ATO Annual Shutdown Over Christmas-New Year Period and Lodgement of Quarter 2 BAS or IAS

As in previous years the ATO will close during the Christmas-New Year period. This means the ATO will suspend their return and form processing from 11.00pm EDT Friday 25 December 2015 to 7.00am EDT Monday 4 January 2016.

While we don’t envisage any problems meeting lodgement deadlines during this period, be aware that if you are required to lodge Quarter 2 BAS or IAS (October – December) there are no Tax Agent Lodgement Concessions for Quarter 2. The lodgement deadline is 28th of February 2016. This may seem a long way off but many people get caught out as other quarters have Tax Agent Lodgement Concessions.

Our office will be closed from Wednesday 23rd December 2015 and re-open on Monday 4th January 2016. There will be a number of people on extended leave in January so don’t leave it too late to get your information to us for processing.

This may not be a priority over the Christmas New Year Period but you don’t want to factor in a $180 ATO Failure to Lodgement Penalty in March!
