Sam is a partner at DFK Gray Perry and has been a member of the team since 2005. Accountancy runs in Sam’s family – his father, grandfather and even his great grandfather have all been accountant’s, so he was destined to enter this industry.
Since joining the firm as a graduate accountant working primarily in taxation and audit, Sam has expanded his professional interests to now mostly focus on Business Advisory. This includes cash flow and budget modelling, digital bookkeeping and data systems, succession planning, and taxation.
While Sam has always been good with numbers, his core passion is to help people achieve their business goals. He does this by listening to his clients’ concerns, and then counselling and mentoring them through their financial journey – all the while applying his analytical skills and intricate knowledge of the taxation system.
Sam is an outstanding listener and skilled communicator. These skills allow him to not only give great advice, but also to educate his clients, expanding their understanding of their own business requirements and the taxation system generally.
In his personal life Sam loves spending time with his family, cycling, passionately following Aussie Rules football, and travelling. He also enjoys the essentials of life: good food and wine!
Sam’s professional qualifications include:
- Bachelor of Accountancy
- Bachelor of Business Finance
- Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants
